I might be the only person who didn't know this. I got butterflies in my fingers and ice cubes in my britches. So cue up the wagons and sew up the stitches.
I hope the reunion goes well for you and the rest. We only had the pleasure of seeing The Gourds once back in the day. We got to the party late. I've seen so many posts from excited fans - it sounds like it will be a big family reunion party!
Thanks for the backstory, Kevin. You are making a lot of people very happy with these shows. So I’m glad that brings you joy. AND this doesn’t take anything away from our excitement about your record coming out in April. Two separate awesome things in April and beyond!
Amazing reunion gig at STP! It’s almost like they never went away (and broke our hearts when they did!), they didn’t miss a beat, they sounded fantastic and the tunes are timeless!
There was also the suggestion that there maybe more reunion shows to come … I sure hope so, what a performance!!
STP was a cool venue but maybe too small? Definitely understaffed (45 minutes in line for a beer!)
While I love your band shows, the last show at White Water Tavern was a friggin delight. I'm on cloud 9 for my whirlwind trip to Austin Sunday. I think it's just what my malaised heart needs.
Just learning about this while browsing next weekends shows....mistakes were made!
Initial disappointment at not getting a ticket is now overcome by joy for the reality of the reunion !!! Amazing, so happy it's happening.
I will be looking for the fall shows!
In the meanwhile Luke 15:11-31 will be rattling in my head.
"But his father ordered his servants, “Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.” Then the celebration began."
I saw my first Gourds show in 2000 at Jovitas. I have been a huge fan since and saw probably 50 shows before they broke up. I missed the ticket window but am so heartened the well washed and unread a making joyful sounds for all the lovely people. I'd fly in from Pittsburgh if you do another. Thanks to all of the Gourds for making it happen.
Hey Mike, there are some folks looking to sell their tickets for various reasons. All legit people. If you’re on FB The Gourds…The Band FB group is a good place to start
Just heard about one night only Gourds concert in Austin. Instantly tried to get tickets, sold out both days. Been following the band since mid 90's. Is there anyway to get tickets?
My daughter, Lisa, turned us on to the Gourds 23 years ago when she was a student at UT and our whole family have been fans of yours, Kevin, ever since. Then along came those early Shinyribs shows at Under the Volcano and we were hooked, yet again! Luckily, Lisa saw the link and got 2 tickets for a father/daughter trip to the Sunday Reunion show just in time to celebrate my 70th birthday that same week in April and I am so very happy. But the point of my comment is that we also very much love the Shinyribs shows - especially the new smaller songs and stories shows! My wife and I were at the recent show at The Mucky Duck and it was wonderful! We are looking forward to attending more of those in the future so we are happy to hear you say that you plan more of them. Enjoyed hearing the back story on the reunion that is making so many of us so happy. And also love knowing that Shinyribs is carrying on, my friend! Can't wait to see you all in April!
hey Robert, thanks yes the Shinyribs Leaving Time record and those shows are what i'm most excited about. I was never a nostalgic type until recently. Something about getting old and feeling time get faster has inspired reflection on my life and career. So, as I follow my muse I can also relive the path i've trod thus far, gratefully so. I will be coming to the Mucky weekly in February for a residency, working on the show for later in the year
Well this is wonderful news! Sounds great! We will do our best to see you at the Duck multiple times in February. Love that venue. It’s perfect for your songs and stories :)

Love me some rock n roll drama n tales Kevin . I'm a sucker for the genre.
Can’t wait to hear the new album! Merry Christmas Kevin!
My heart sings with joy for your reunion. 😍
I'm scheming. Austin in April sounds mighty shiny!
It's a Gourds fanatics' Christmas miracle! May Ramsay be forgiven and blessed in equal measure! 😁

Love you Gourds! Please do it again!!
It was magical and emotional like getting therapy from weathered wonks wizards

Here in Houston at Anderson Fair they broadcast the shows….maybe a possibility?
